This year’s event will feature one adulting ringing track under the direction of Shannon Casey. There will be a free public concert at 4:00 pm to showcase the day’s hard work.

Lunch

A catered lunch from Chop Shop will be available for an additional price. If you do not purchase a lunch, you are responsible for providing your own. There are various dining options within a short driving distance to the venue. You are welcome to bring your own lunch if you prefer. Beverages will be available for all at no cost. Purchasing a lunch is optional. If you do not plan to purchase a lunch, you can skip this section.

Shannon Casey

Shannon Casey

Shannon C. Casey has served as Artistic Director and Conductor of Sonoran Bells in Tucson, Arizona, since 2011, following her earlier tenure as a performing member from 2004 to 2009. She also directs the Steeple Bells at Northminster Presbyterian Church and serves as Handbell Director at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, sharing her passion for musical excellence across sacred, educational, and community settings. As a clinician and mentor, she is known for cultivating musical artistry and developing confident leaders within ensembles.

Shannon is a former Chair of the Area 11 Board of Directors (2014–2020) and previously served as a local liaison for the National Seminar. She is a regular participant in Distinctly Bronze, National Seminar, and Pinnacle, and maintains deep ties to the national handbell community.

In addition to her musical leadership, Shannon brings over two decades of experience in organizational strategy and operations. Through her company, Spiral Rose Leadership, she provides executive coaching and fractional COO services for service-based organizations, helping them strengthen infrastructure, align teams, and steward sustainable growth. She holds a Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting and a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Arizona.

Schedule:
Participants will meet in the morning to set up around 8:00 – 8:45 am. Rehearsals will start at 9:00 am. We will rehearse until 12:00 pm where we will take a 30-45 minute lunch break. After this, we will rehearse until 3:00 pm. We will have a free afternoon concert around 4:00 pm featuring the adult handbell ensemble. Participants will purchase lunch on their own or purchase one through the Area. Lunch selections will be made during registration.

Please wear Concert Black for the performance.

Please come with your music rehearsed and ready to ring.  It can be purchased from Jeffers, or distributor of your choice.  Pieces are listed below with corresponding order information.  

Choirs need to bring all their own equipment. Bells and pads will be provided for individual ringers.  Bring your own folders, mallets, stands and sunshine cloths.  Gloves MUST be worn if using borrowed equipment.  

Tables will be provided for all.

 What do I need to bring?

Your bells (individual ringers can be squeezed in with another choir), gloves, mallets, pads, and music stands.
Wear whatever you are comfortable in for the rehearsals, but bring your concert attire for the Saturday evening concert.
Your Spring Ring music – no photocopies are allowed!
