Marquise Usher

Marquise Usher began ringing handbells in 2002 at a church near his home in Oakland, CA. At age 18, he auditioned and joined both Sonos Handbell Ensemble and Velocity Handbell Ensemble. They have toured the United States, Estonia, Finland, and Japan. In addition to touring, Marquise has been fortunate to conduct, teach and perform at the area, national and international levels, including Area 11 in 2016.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Marquise was the Junior Chorus Director and Handbell Director for the San Francisco Boys Chorus. He also directed two 5-octave church handbell ensembles. In 2008 he attended the University of California at Davis to study Music Theory and Composition with an emphasis in Conducting.
